Columbia Standard Equipment DetailsAvidyne Entegra EXP5000 Primary Flight Display (10.4" PFD in portrait format)The advanced technology of the Entegra EXP5000 Primary Flight Display (PFD) provides a high level of flight instrument integration. The fully-integrated EXP5000 puts attitude, heading, airspeed, altitude and vertical speed instruments onto a single display, with common symbology for easier interpretation, thereby reducing workload and improving the instrument scan. The vertical format is similar to the PFD displays found in most private jets. Integrated EHSIhe electronic horizontal situation indicator (EHSI) puts advanced navigation display capability directly in the pilots primary field of view with all of the capabilities of sophisticated EHSI/EFIS systems. Fully integrated with the VLOC/GPS, the EXP5000 provides synchronized switching during the transition from the enroute phase to the approach phase of the flight. When an instrument approach is selected, the PFD displays lateral (and vertical with ILS) guidance indications on the attitude display for increased precision and reduced scanning. The EHSI can be viewed in standard 360-degree compass rose, or in a 120-degree arc mode, with selectable RMI pointer and flight-plan moving map display. Coupled Autopilot FunctionsThe EXP5000 is coupled with the S-TEC 55X autopilot for altitude preselect, vertical-speed-select and heading-select modes, without the need for external controllers. Selection bugs and digital readouts for each of these parameters are provided for clear and concise operation. Avidyne FlightMax Entegra EX5000 Multi-Function Display (MFD)The EX5000 MFD provides 7 pages of information, 2 of which are optional Map – Provides course information overlaid onto a map that displays shaded terrain as well as navigational aids including special-use airspace. Zoom feature can detailed enough to show a single airport or wide enough to depict the entire United States. Full instrument approaches, once selected, are displayed including the complete missed approach procedure. NEXRAD and lightning are displayed if the SatWX satellite weather option is selected. Garmin GMA 340 Audio PanelThe GMA 340 features innovative LED-illuminated push button controls that allow audio selection of both NAV and Comm audio. Large buttons activate the Comm microphone and audios for both Comm transceivers to simplify cockpit workload; Split Comm allows the pilot to transmit/receive on Comm 1 and the co-pilot to transmit/receive on Comm 2. MASQ™ processing reduces ambient noise from the avionics inputs. Comm transmit indication is also provided. In addition, the GMA 340 includes a four-place VOX intercom with three selectable modes of isolation and independent pilot, co-pilot, and passenger volume control. Each microphone input has a dedicated VOX circuit to ensure that only the active microphone is heard when squelch is broken. Special cabin noise de-emphasis circuitry enhances cockpit communications. Also standard is the three-light Marker Beacon Receiver/Indicator with high/low sensitivity selection and SmartMute™ marker audio muting. Garmin GNS 430 IFR GPS, Com, VOR, LOC, and Glide-SlopeDual units are provided as standard equipment. The GNS 430 is a WAAS-upgradeable IFR GPS, Com, VOR, LOC, and glide-slope with color moving map and E-Prox terrain awareness in one multipurpose unit. The TSO'd VHF Com provides 25 kHz spacing for 760-channel configuration. A vast Jeppesen database that can be updated with a front-loading data card contains all airports, VORs, NDBs, Intersections, FSS, Approach, DPs/STARs, and SUA information. The GNS 430 makes practical use of this information with features like intelligent frequency nomination.
Garmin GTX 327 Mode C Digital TransponderThis full-featured, TSO-certified transponder provides a unique level of functionality and utility. Some of the GTX 327's most unique features are the easiest to see, among them, the easy-reading DSTN Liquid Crystal Display which reverses the numbers out of black for optimal viewing. The numeric keypad makes entering a squawk code a snap, and a dedicated VFR button allows for quick-and-easy 1200/VFR squawking. The GTX 327 also offers important timing and display functions such as flight time and count-up and count-down timers, as well as current pressure altitude. S–TEC System FiftyFiveX Autopilot including PFD Flight DirectorThe System FiftyFiveX is a high-performance, 2-axis (roll & pitch) autopilot that provides: HDG – Heading hold based upon the PFD selection NAV – Tracking VOR or GPS enroute ALT/VS – Altitude hold, climbs and descents, all based upon PFD selection APR – Approach mode provides greater accuracy for instrument approaches. GPSS (GPS Roll Steering) – Integrates the autopilot with the GPS Navigator function which provides roll steering commands, independent of the CDI needle movement. The electronic CDI needle on the PFD is automatically set based upon output from the GPS. Autopilot annunciation is duplicated at the top of the PFD.
